Napoli are the only team with a perfect record in Italian football after six games this season. The Europa League campaigners have been in sensational form in the Italian Serie A this season but that unblemished record is at serious risk ahead of the trip to Florence later this weekend.
The Partenopei take on a Fiorentina side with four wins in the league this term. Also, Fiorentina have won four of their last five Serie A outings. The only defeat in five matches in the Italian football top flight came against defending champions Inter Milan. Fiorentina lost 3-1 to the Nerazzuri with ten men after Argentine international Nicolas Gonzalez was sent off for dissent via two yellow cards in quick succession.
Ahead of the visit of league leaders Napoli,Fiorentina will welcome the aforementioned Gonzalez into their squad after serving a one-game ban due to his red card during the recent home defeat to defending champions Inter Milan. Gonzalez served his punishment in the away win over Udinese last week. Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic scored the only goal of the game from the spot to take his tally to four goals in the league.
Napoli suffered their first defeat of the season in the Europa League clash with Spartak Moscow and it would be fascinating to see how they would react to that defeat. They are yet to taste any defeat in Italian football this season.
Spartak Moscow recorded an impressive away win at the expense of Napoli buoyed by the first red card to Marco Rui. Napoli were ahead in the game until the red card to Rui on the half hour mark. Quincy Promes has a somewhat nomadic career for a player who still has several years of his career in front of him and he scored two goals to lead Spartak Moscow to a very good win.
