Italian football team Torino have offered star player Andrea Belotti a new deal as they attempt to persuade him to stay in the face of interest elsewhere. This is according to the newest reports in the Italian media. Sky Sports Italia confirmed the development of a new deal for Italian football player Belotti as revealed by Torino president Urbano Cairo.
Belotti has been linked with a move to fellow Italian Serie A team AS Roma and Sevilla in the Spanish top flight but Torino president Cairo is determined to secure his long-term future at the club via a new contract.
Torino president Cairo says the new contract offer made to Belotti would be discussed when he returns from holiday in the company of sporting director DavideVagnati. Cairo is optimistic that the former Palermo striker will commit his long-term future to the Granata. On the interest from other teams, Cairo said it’s not new as the club has always dealt with interest in Belotti during every transfer window.
The new contract offer for Belotti includes bonuses that takes it to €4m on a yearly basis.
Torino striker Belotti is on holiday at the moment after he was part of the victorious Italian team at Euro 2020. The Italian international is not expected back to Torino training until the start of next month.
Belotti was used mainly as a substitute by Italy manager Roberto Mancini during the Euro 2020 tournament. He came on in the final against England before becoming the first player to miss during the shootout. Despite his penalty miss, Italy still won 3-2 to claim a second title in the history of the competition.
